The best news of the year!
I was informed today, that Clackamas County found enough money in their general budget to cover Amber's support funding for this fiscal year! (through 6/2011) They will cover all established crisis diversion funding recipients (this is Amber) but will not be able to offer assistance to new patients. This information makes my year....really.
While this is fantastic for us, I still want to stress the need for us to lobby our state lawmakers to re-establish this funding for next fiscal year. There are many other kids and families out there who can use this type of service, but won't get it! We're very fortunate!
Amber is continuing to tolerate her advance in g-tube feeds and decrease in TPN. We will visit with Dr. Fridge next week, and talk about the plan regarding removing the pancreatic duct stent and the possibility of redoing her Nissen to reduce aspiration into her lungs.
Amber went back to school last week, and was really excited to see her classroom friends again! What a little girl she has become! She's going to be 4 years old already in just a few short weeks! I can hardly believe it!
